Chris Gibson, Esq.

Managing Principal

Christopher M. Gibson, Esq. is the managing principal of The Corydon Group (TCG) and responsible for the firm’s strategic direction and oversight. He brings over 25 years of political experience to his clients having started his political experience in 1993 as an intern in state government. After several successful internships, Chris became a registered lobbyist in 1997 while attending law school in the evenings. Shortly after being admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1999, Chris started his own governmental-affairs firm of Gibson & Associates which a few years later changed its name to The Corydon Group (a nod to Indiana’s first state capital).

Chris has built a reputation for being able to effectively communicate and advocate for his clients on both sides of the political aisle allowing TCG to become the largest independent public affairs firm in Indiana. Chris has spent the last 20 years representing highly regulated companies such as Boyd Gaming and multiple high-profile companies in the alcohol industry. In recent years, Chris has been the leading Indiana lobbyist for emerging technology companies that are seeking to institute new regulatory structures for business models that did not exist as recently as a decade ago. In 2015, Chris spearheaded the statewide transportation network company (TNC) legislation that allowed companies such as Uber to operate statewide in Indiana. This bill was one of the first of its kind in the country and later became model legislation nationwide. In 2018, Chris worked with the Majority Leader in the House on behalf of the trade association for companies like Expedia and Airbnb to pass statutory guidelines regarding short-term rentals. In 2019, on behalf of Turo, Chris helped pass the first statewide model car-sharing statute in the country and this language has since been adopted as model legislation by the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL).
