J. Cameron Carter

Vice President of Strategic Communications

Cameron (Cam) Carter is vice president of strategic communications for The Corydon Group. He oversees the firm’s external communications and uses his 30-plus years of experience to provide strategic counsel to clients. Cam formerly served in Washington, DC as communications director for both U.S. Senator Richard Lugar and former Vice President Dan Quayle. He has held senior management positions with Hudson Institute and the international advertising and public relations firm, Publicis, and is a veteran of several state and national political campaigns. Cam is the former president and CEO of TechPoint, having helped form the statewide technology initiative in 2002 and merging the organization with the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) in 2006. From 2007-2016, Cam led economic development and federal lobbying efforts for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, Cam operated his own public relations firm, Content by Carter, before joining The Corydon Group in 2020. He is a 1989 honors graduate of the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
